More than 100 golfers hit the links under cloudy skies Aug. 29 to help homeless veterans in the Harrisburg area by raising funds to construct 15 tiny homes and a centrally located community center offering a full safety net of life supports.

Called the Red, White & Blue Scramble, the event was held at Sunset Golf Course in Middletown. It drew 108 participants.

The community, which has already attracted widespread support from business, community and military leaders, will be built along the Susquehanna River and the Capital Area Greenbelt, south of PennDOT’s Riverfront Office Center.
