By Daniel Urie (PennLive) A plan to build a tiny-home village for homeless veterans in Harrisburg is one step closer to being a reality. Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania plans to build the 15-unit village on a 5-acre vacant lot at 1103 S. Front St. just south of the PennDOT building.

The Harrisburg Planning Commission recommended the preliminary/final land development plan for the project at the commission’s Wednesday night meeting that was held virtually. The project ultimately has to be approved by Harrisburg City Council. Previously, the Harrisburg Zoning Hearing Board approved zoning relief requests in January, and in May, the Harrisburg City Council approved a subdivision of the 20-acre property so that five acres would be used for the village.
