Harrisburg, PA — A local organization is one step closer to building a village of tiny homes for homeless veterans.

We first told you in April about the Veterans Outreach of PA’s proposal to transform 5 acres of land behind the PennDot headquarters into a community center for homeless veterans in Harrisburg.

The Harrisburg Planning Commission just approved the non-profit's development plan – inching them closer to having shovels in the ground and addressing a major need.

Bill Reed says the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg helps more than 250 homeless veterans every year.
