Story by Diane McNaughton, Harrisburg Magazine

This year, Veterans Day in Harrisburg will still hold many time-honored tradtions: Th estirring strains of "The Star-Spangled Banner" will still ring out; applause will stil ripple through parades; and long-overdue words of appreciation will still be spoken.

But this November, for the first time ever, other expressions of gratitude will also echo over the capital city - like the roar and rhythmic beeps of heavy-duty bulldozers and backhoes rumbling over a newly built access road, and the steady hum of progress as contractors erect new structures.
