Steve Rexford is a retired business executive with over 40 years of experience in Labor Relations and Human Resources Management. He maintains an organization consulting business specializing in the interpersonal and organizational issues involved with the transition of family owned businesses to the next generation. However, he spends most of his time in the non-profit arena and keeping up with 13 grandchildren in 4 states.
The major areas of interests in the non-profit are recovery from addiction and Veteran’s support. Steve is currently a resource development and organizational consultant with Just For Today Recovery and Veterans Support Services (JFT) in Lemoyne, PA for the past 5 years. At JFT he helped build a recovery center that services the recovery of veterans communities. JFT established a Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) program and is a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) training center. JFT was awarded a contract to pick up substance abuse cases at local hospitals in Cumberland County, PA and introduce them to the appropriate level of care on the recovery continuum. Except for medical personal, all personnel involved in these programs are from the recovery community, several are veterans. In cooperation with Pennsylvania Food Bank, JFT provides fresh groceries to 25 veteran’s families. JFT has also renovated a property, The House of Heroes, into a female veterans residence for female vets having difficulty securing stable housing.
Steve also serves as co-chairman of the Commitment, Legacy and Endowment Committee of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church. This committee is responsible for stewardship and development of an endowment for the church.
He graduated from Bucknell University in 1966 and served in the US Army as an ordinance officer during the Vietnam War from 1966-1969.
Steve’s primary roles at Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania are on program development and fundraising.
